Architecture of Harlesden for Aspect Property
Earlier this year I was commissioned to photograph the Brent district of Harlesden – an area very local to me for the last seven years. In the past Harlesden was an area associated with gang crime, but now gentrification from nearby fashionable areas of Kensal Rise and Queens Park has started to spread towards Harlesden. A branch of Costa coffee was the first notable retail, followed by the recently open ‘Royal Oak’ pub (seen in images below), and more surely to follow.
This commission was about producing a set of strong architectural images which the client could use to decorate their Harlesden office, showing off the area. Here are the shortlisted images from the two evening shoots I did in NW10.
For the shoot I worked with the Nikon D810, its 36 megapixel sensor ideal for possible large scale prints. A 24mm PC-E lens was a necessity for its shift capabilities, allowing me to keep all the architecture looking straight.
